From news article: Congressional aides said the expected $377 million in cuts -- much of which would hit U.N. peacekeeping -- were unlikely to put the United States in arrears on its dues because it has built up significant credits at the United Nations that could be used. The reduction in U.N. funding was agreed upon as part of a deal reached by President Barack Obama and Republican and Democratic congressional leaders last week to pare $38 billion in spending during the current fiscal year, which ends September 30, and avoid a government shutdown |

I hope the next Congress completely eliminates the UN funding. That in and of itself will massively curtail the Arab agenda. Imagine if China or India with their 1 billion plus populations decided to create internal borders and form 40 new countries each with 30 mill+ population. How could any of these be denied access to the UN and would we all be obliged to follow their personal agendas? The UN is screwed and I wouldn't give it one red cent. It seved its purpose and should now be disbanded. How many independent countries came into being after the collapse of the USSR? |
