We need to get off that aid. There is nothing more humiliating then watching our leaders bow down to the American administration and begging for aid like a child begging his father for more allowance. Getting off this needs to be a national priority. By the same token, Israel MUST stop its dependence on importing foreign products, like replacement parts for military equipment, etc. Until that happens, Israel will be way too vulnerable to set its own national agenda. |

Try to cut aid and the 75% requirement that the aid be spent in the US on American firms employing Americans and you will see a huge fight in Congress. And that's one of the reasons that it should be redefined as a commercial relationship, not direct aid which implies a one-way benefit. Maybe we should consider it as part of Obama's economic stimulus package and add a few thousand more jobs "created... or saved" in America? ![]() |
