Absolutely. The Israeli/American economic relationship has got to be based on business transactions and bilateral trade, not on charity.

By the same token, Israel MUST stop its dependence on importing foreign products, like replacement parts for military equipment, etc. Until that happens, Israel will be way too vulnerable to set its own national agenda.

Right, it's important to keep in mind that the American aid to Israel is very beneficial to the U.S.

And that's one of the reasons that it should be redefined as a commercial relationship, not direct aid which implies a one-way benefit.

Maybe we should consider it as part of Obama's economic stimulus package and add a few thousand more jobs "created... or saved" in America?
