I think his comments were simply true. I would not fault a non-political person, whose mother's husband happens to be running for prez (dad was a Republican remember, and he was all grown up by the time Kerry married Heinz). If he said Israel is being treated like the 51st state, like a swing state then he is simply correct. More people vote from Israel absentee from swing states than any other group. If he said the Jewish lobby has too much power, that's also true, so I can't accuse him of lying either. It's just a stupid thing to say in public, but I suppose everyone KNOWS this is true. In a way, I consider it a compliment...and a bit of a thorn in their side. What I would have said if I were being candid with him (as I have said to Democrats who complained about the same thing by the way) is yeah, that means you better win us over then, or you'll lose. We are powerful because we really meant that thing about "NEVER AGAIN"! We didn't scheme this into being, it just happened in many cases but these are the facts. We live in FL, CA, OH, PA and all your blue states or swing states. Mostly, we don't live in Utah, OK, SD or ID...we didn't plan it, but that's the way it IS. What we DID plan is our PAC's and our organizations, they can copy us, but we have a head start and we have some of the best organizers on the planet so good luck. If you ever notice through history, whenever a country loses their Jewish population, they lose a lot more than just people. I'm not trying to be arrogant, so please excuse me if it sounds that way, but we have survived for thousands of years because our knowledge is mostly portable and we have always been culturally focused on education. We developed skills/knowledge that the local population did not have and that we could take with us if we ever had to flee. That's reinforced our cultural focus on education and knowledge and it has become a reinforcing loop. We always understood the importance of being indispensible, and having power over the government whenever possible. Other enthic minorities weren't that good at it...except maybe the Irish for a time, and only in New England.
