Because despite the stereotype, many Americans do travel abroad, and France was always the most popular destination.

And that's where many Americans learned first hand that the French, or at least Parisians, are the rudest, snottiest and nastiest people on the planet.

And then there's all the American bashing in the French press.

So a boycott of France is part of the reaction to France's constant disrespect of Americans.
Thats not fair, we Viennese won't let anyone to take us away our hard earned title of being the rudest people! Your generalisations are just biased or are based on lacking knowledge

That's right. We don't respect baby-killers
That's the best you can do.

What are the French Hypocrites now also?

Like France's hands are clean? What happened in Algeria again? What were the French doing in Vietnam again?

Why can't French people just act with manners and decency, like their fellow European counterparts. Take a cue from the Dutch or the Austrians. Be nice for a change. It's called common courtesy, people appreciate it.

The pointless snobbery and unnecessary attitude of the French people, only highlights the reality that French Culture is passe' and the French people are clinging to the glories of the past.

France is like a little poodle, all bark and no bite.

This was then. France hasn't colonized anybody in a long time, unlike the US. It's hilarious now that I think about it.

Courtesy is a cultural thing. What's polite here is rude over there and vice versa. Most americans I meet in France are rather rude, by french standards, but I don't hold it against them.

Stereotypes. French culture is very much alive, thank you. I couldn't care less whether you like it or not.

France is like a little poodle, all bark and no bite.
How old are you?

He is a fool. It looks like imports from France have risen across the board for the most part.

This info from the census bureau is pretty damning to Bill's case.
