Default COMIC Relief?????
This morning, I was wathching a replay of Bush's latest Attempt to explain his actions. Just more of the same, (The critics are saying "simply recycled reteric") and to me quite ineffective. Now most of you know I detest him, so I won't burden you with a rehash, But there are two points about his speach, and then the promised comic relief.

1. What he, and many others have stressed was the numbers of Iraqis which would have to be trained to make it possible for our troops to come home. Strangely. the numbers are all over thre map. A short time ago. there were supposedly 4 divisions ready to take individual control, two weeks later it had shrunken to one. Then comes the talk of Battalions. ranging fron twenty, to Bush's speach today citing one hundred thirty. But at the same time, was asking how many would be necessary for their own protection. --numbers and references thereto were from 1000 to the largest numbers of 7500. For those of you that have some knowlege of military numbers. Note the disparagy between the cited figures, and what would be necessary to form the cited units. THE NUMBERS AND CLAIMS SIMPLY DON'T FIT.
One more question regarding this point: We have been there 2 1/2 years. How come there has been no more training than is now reported. Especially since many of the new recruits are seasoned retreads from Saddam's Armies. Are they that dumb, or have we lost the ability to train them????

2. Every time the president speaks, it is before a "Canned" Audience. such as today with a captive audience of the whole Naval Academy. This has beern the case and the way back, If I am wrong, I challange anyone of you to identifry a case where he has spoken to anyone other than a Captive pre-esblished group, and usually PRO BUSH crowdf. I would
suggest that he is too much a coward to speak before an unbiassed group of citizens

3. Now for comedy. This morning, on CNN, at a roundtable conferance. DANA BASH, a Whitehous Correspondent, was speaking about the unexpected GIFT, that Bush had received in the person of Joe Leiberman, who had nearly mimiced Bushes opinions of the war. In doing so, she cited Joe's statement (this is an absolut4e quote of her words) "HE SAID IN HIS SPEACH THAT 'JEWISH' TROOPS SHOULD STAY. THEY SHOULD NOT COME HOME(unquote) I went back over and over that portion on the program to make certain that is what I hear. IT WAS.
Of course, I imagine it was a mis-quote, just as the "X" over Chenny was a "Glitch" Maybe anotrher head is going to roll???
