Oh really. If that were the case, then Henry Cisneros (Hud Secretary in Clinton Admin), or former CIA director John Deutch, or even Susan McDougal, or Sandy Burgalar. The fact is every president has pardoned someone connected with the administration. This is more partisan politics than simple admission of facts.
