HA! Yes, I'm a foreigner (and at the very least a minority)! Chassisman has been trying to tell everyone that the real residents of Texas are all illegals Everyone else is a foreigner. It won't be long before Mexico reclaims Texas so I'll have no choice but to change my name to Crystalita or move

Texas, though in the South, has it's own language, but not so much different from the language Miranda and I speak. May be different words but they have the same meanings. They also have their own brand of Southern hospitality, comparable to the rest of the south. Most are really good folks!

As you can see, the majority of Texas is okay but there's a few spots that have no idea what the Southern language is nor do they know about Southern hospitality. As a matter of fact, those blue areas are where you will probably find folks that love their mules, pigs, sheep, etc.
Now, when I went to Temple, TX, I missed a turn and ended up in Austin. I knew I was in trouble because the sign said, "Go away if you voted Bush. We don't want any insane people here!" so I hurried and got on the interstate and headed north to Temple. I was afraid for my life! I thought they might catch me and burn me at the stake but I made it to the Red Country unharmed. It put the fear of God in me though.
Most of those folks in Texas are just as nice as they can be. If you're driving along a stretch of highway and you come upon a slower vehicle, why, that driver will just pull over to the shoulder and let you pass! I'd never experienced anything like that in my life!
So, TB, you wanna experience Southern life, Austin ain't the place. You've gotta go to one of the southern red counties or parishes!

Funny that the blue area in NC seems to be my area. Mrs. M, I understand. Everytime I go to Georgia I get the same jeebies, I figure if I just stay on 85 I will be safe, its when you get lost on those back roads that it gets kinda iffy and you start looking around for banjo players with 5 teeth.

LOL. That does show the red/blue of Pennsylvania pretty well given I've lived--and been influenced by--both red and blue sections. The only thing it never shows in Pennsylvania is that the blue-to-red map goes from about 100,000 road ragers--give or take 50,000 illegals--per square mile to about 4 Amish buggies and 3 mountain men--give or take 50,000 illegals--per square mile. And as for red/blue, we all know you're just a shade of pretty pink anyway.
