Default Freeh on Clinton...Former Pres One Notch Below "Traitor"?
LeftLungers...

So now we have Louis Freeh's book "My FBI" on the shelves...& once again, we have official, cooberated confirmation that bubba had his thumbs up his ass when it came to fighting terrorism. This is an excerpt from this morning's Meet The Press, where Timmy Russert asked the former Director to comment on Clinton's denials to his accusations:

MR. FREEH: Look, the president's entitled to his denials. This is a president that makes public denials from time to time. We know that. Let me just give you what we would call corroborating evidence, which is what investigators and prosecutors talk about.

For over two years--over two years--I pressed the president, his national security advisor, to pursue one simple request with the crown prince. And the request was to get FBI agents into prison cells in Saudi Arabia, where three of the detainees who had actually performed the bombing--these are members of the Saudi Hezbollah, which is an agent of the Iranian government. An extraordinary request. FBI agents had never been in Saudi Arabia, Tim, let alone in a prison debriefing Saudi nationals. For two and a half years, we got no movement on that request. We would write the talking points for the president. The Saudis would tell us they didn't raise it. They didn't raise it seriously. And nothing happened for two and a half years.

Then on September 26, at my request, former President Bush, with the same set of talking points, met with the crown prince in the Saudi residence out in McLean, Virginia, and made the simple request. FBI agents need to get into that prison. President Bush called me after the meeting, and he said, "I think you'll be hearing from the Saudis." The following Tuesday at 1:00, myself, our ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Wyche Fowler, and Dale Watson, the head of my counterterrorism division, who, by the way, will confirm the information about the source, were summoned out to the crown prince's residence. And the crown prince, referencing his meeting with President Bush, not with President Clinton, said, "I approve your request." Turned to his ambassador and said, "Direct my brother, the interior minister, to get the FBI agents in there." Within four weeks... Now...couple this with the fact that...instead of pressuring the Saudis to stop funding terrorists & also scale back on the extremist teachings found in the nation's Madrasa's...(as he promised to do)...he asked them instead for contributions toward his Presidential Library. The Clinton people are coming out now & saying there was no crime committed because "he never received the money until after he officially left the presidency" (a direct quote from Lanny Davis...former Clinton but boy.) Freeh has said (& reiterated again this morning) that he feels no crime was committed...

...but...

...you tell me...

Are these the types of actions one would expect from a patriot?

I'll take the Bush boys any day.

And this is relevant because of what?

Clinton is not running for any office as far as I know and if you're just dredging up shit about past presidents...maybe the moderators will set up a new forum called, "This President was a dick because he...." Anybody can post crap about any president from Washington through Bush#43, what's the point? The man is either in the office now which makes him fair game for anyone or he's a "past" president which makes it ludicrous to point out his failings as every president has some failures and because "Hindsight" is 20/20.

But the fact is Louis Freeh was a J. Edgar Hoover wannabe and a piss poor director of the FBI.

Louis Freeh is blaming Clinton for the failings of an agency that LOUIS FREEH directed. How republican of him....

My president fights terrorism better than your president!

Really, whats the point? Clinton was shitty at fighting terrorism, he's no longer our president. Bush is shitty at fighting terrorism in his own magical way, but he's still our president.

You know who else was bad at fighting terrorism? Millard Fillmore! In fact, I don't think he killed a single radical Islamic fundamentalist! I mean, what's up with that!? I'd have Bush over Millard Fillmore any day!

Because you Dems will want to elect another one as Prez, maybe even another Clinton. What could be more relavent than that.

This sounds like some lame attempt to steer away from the historical facts.

The director has to get permission and cooperation from his boss to run his department effectively.

Sure. That's what we haven't heard from Osama in two years, while most of his underlings are strung up in rat infested foreign prisons, and why saddam is on trial. Oh, and we haven't been attacked since Bush started fighting terrorism. All this because he sucks at it.

Are you on crack?

Clinton is a genius compared to the present blinking occupant of the White House. We love him in Canada. Your last great President. Before that I guess Eisenhower fit the bill, the last president willing to take on the military-industrial complex that Bush and Cheney have embraced with such delight (excuse me while I puke).
