Default NYC Mayor Suspends 'Hate Talking' Imam, NY Post Reports
NYC Mayor Suspends 'Hate Talking' Imam, NY Post Reports

(CNSNews.com) - Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Thursday suspended the Muslim chaplain who heads the city's jail system after the imam claimed that Muslim prisoners were being tortured and said "the greatest terrorists in the world occupy the White House." Imam Umar Abdul-Jalil, the executive director of ministerial services for the Department of Correction, is now on paid administrative leave from his $76,602-a-year job, pending the outcome of an investigation into his inflammatory remarks, the New York Post reported. Outraged lawmakers demanded Abdul-Jalil be fired immediately, but Bloomberg said he is a civil service employee, so that can't happen. Good for Bloomberg.

Stupid yankees? It happens not only all over the U.S. but all over the world as its seen to be politically correct "just incase they're innocent" i mean ou don't wanna be seen to hang the guy before you've tried him as such do you? But yeah i agree he should at leastbe suspended without pay and then later if found to have done nothng wrong after an investigation or inquiry he should be re-embursed for his losses.

Are you sure that's how you feel? It's just that you seem to be kind of all over the map on this issue...

First of all, I am against any kind of racism or descriminating because of race, religion or national origin.

Woohoo, pile those Muslim cropses up and burn them in the streets!
They should have thrown some dead pigs on top to really piss off the 12th Imam.

...

Gun them down, pile them up and burn them.
Then turn the other cheek and let one rip.

I am enjoying the beating Muslims are handing out. Yeah! Vicariously, it's a victory for my side as well. Beat the shit out of assholes that have no respect for people's religions. Just flail away at the scum. Bet it will be a long time before they pick on Islam.
It seems that you simultaneously admire Muslims when they're violent and enjoy seeing them burned alive. But of course, you disapprove of making judgements based on religion. The only common theme here seems to be a passionate love for slaughter and carnage. Now, I realize that you've never claimed to be a clearinghouse of intellectual consistency, but your opinion on this matter makes John Kerry look resolute.

Now, on the subject of the thread, I think that suspending a prison chaplain who seems to be sowing the seeds of discontentment among inmates is certainly a good idea. Allowing him to remain would probably be a recipe for violence. Of course, now that I've said that, perhaps you've changed your mind again...

You think the punishment for speaking ill of the government should be hanging?

It was meant in a metophorical sense, you don't take irreversable action before you're sure, i didn't mean literally hang him but meant make sure he's wrong first before you fire him. Its just a saying, doesn't have a literal context but a more broader meaning...though i think you already knew that! :P

Given the prior discourse of the thread, it's easy to get confused. I do understand what you're saying.

I think it's a disgrace, this nation is really looking more and more like a Gestappo/1984 state.

Let me guess, you are a European, arn't you! The fact of the matter is the iman has made comments that would equate into hate speach with action. Based on that, and the history of the Iman supporting the Muslim Brotherhood/Al Queda/Taliban it seems the appropiate thing to do. Of course, if there is no action taken and his followers took action, you wuold be the first to shout, Where was the police in all this!

Here's th exact quote:"the greatest terrorists in the world occupy the White House."

Now call me fascist if you want, but I do not think this should be considered "hate talk," I'm going to take it one step further: I actually agree with the man, the White House IS filled with a bunch of crooks, too bad Bloomberg can't get his hands on me.

You know, you get to actually sweet-talk an entire nation into attacking a sovereign nation and killing 50.000-75.000 of their civilians and you get a way with it, but don't you dare saying that the crooks in the white house are terrorists, you'll be suspended for "hate talk."

Bloomberg once again shows his bias.
