Up to 700,000 people demonstrating against Bush in India. I guess they don't like him there either
![]() Bush arrived in India late Wednesday in his first trip to the country. He was greeted the next day by various branches of the Indian military. But on the streets, Bush was greeted by mass protests across the country. In New Delhi alone, crowd estimates varied from 250,000 to 700,000. |

Yes, there are hundreds of thousands of people in India who have nothing better to do with their day than march through the streets in protest against Bush. It's sad there are so many people who are anti-American, but perhaps one can take some comfort that there are several hundred million people who decided NOT to protest, since the population of India, as of today - 1,090,106,800
I read your article: Arundhati Roy made some interesting comments, including we have stories in the corporate press in India which are unbelievable about how Bush arrived with 16 dogs that are staying in a five-star hotel and are not to be referred to as dogs, because they're actually officers of the U.S. Army. 16 dogs that aren't really dogs because..... they are officers dressed as dogs..... in dog costumes..... but don't call them dogs... chihuahuas? poodles? Good idea - nothing like 16 dogs running around the president to calm suspicion. This reminds me of Monty Python's Teddy Salad - an American spy in a dog suit, who explodes before he can spill his guts on the location of Mister Neutron. And what does "Baby Bush" mean?............... and we think our media has problems...... ![]() |

no. most people don't much like him.
Don't know what their problem is though, they've gained a lot through US outsourcing of jobs ... mind you there are a lot of Muslims there, and a lot of Indians are pissed off with US multinationals like Monsanto, there a lot of issues over GM and 'plant medicines' and how they impact on rural India. Then many will be afraid of what US/Indian relations will mean for the ordinary Indian ... looking at what friendship with the US means in many parts of he rest of the world would make them somewhat uncomfortable and then again, there are many who are still pissed off that the US never extradited Warren Anderson to India on manslaughter charges over Bhopal - and that 22 years later no adequate compensation has been paid to the victims ... whose quality of life is still deteriorating due to the long term health and economic impact. But if I were Bush I really wouldn't take it personally. You only have to get on with the elites in countries that have liberal interpretations of the word 'democracy'. |

Wait look Samantha started a thread on the same issue and because that one got away from her she starts another. Can the two be merged only it beats making the same arguments in both threads, how low can a liberal stoop? Daiysm no point in arguing it out in both threads, just gonna end up typing double the load.

So funny, how it seems to work the same with your type. I see it over and over again. LOL! I'm sorry, I should pick on someone of my own intellect. |

Yeah its the same calm collected reponses to your liberal outbursts of what seems to be a mix of hysteria and some sort of a foreign language. ![]() Now back to the issue, you silly guys keep attacking the messenger instead of talking about the issue, I understand...the issue isn't easy, Bush makes it pretty difficult for you to keep on making excuses and justifications. I will give you a break on this one ![]() |
