Default Deputies Murder Boy
Recently I saw a tape of some evil doings by the Bay County Sheriff’s Department.
What I saw and what you will see when you see the tape is a bunch of ill trained, short sighted men who work in the department run by Frank McKeithen.
I believe that Frank McKeithen needs to find another line of work.

I watched with horror a 6 minute tape of five Bay County Sheriff’s Department deputies forcibly hold down a young boy in a juvenile ‘boot-camp’ run by the State of Florida.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/02/17/bo...ath/index.html

For most of the mob work that the deputies put on the 14 year old boy five deputies harassed and physically restrained him even as his body slumped to the ground and he was unable to respond.
At one point 8 deputies were crowded around him grabbing at his body and apparently pushing and shoving him from point to point.
In the tape some older woman, apparently in her fifties looked on as the deputies manhandled the boy, shoving him to the ground, seemingly applying choke holds, twisting his arms and jamming his legs into the earth.
At the end I counted 10 deputies crowded around the collapsed body of the 14 year old boy as paramedics strapped him into a pallet and slowly dragged him away, finally helped by some of the now concerned deputies that had taken part in the abuse.
This was a 14 year old American boy apparently murdered by several deputies in the Bay County Sheriff’s Department in Florida.
In this case Martin Lee Anderson, a 14 year old American was slaughtered by local law enforcement agents.
For how much longer will this brutality be tolerated?
Bay County Sheriff Department’s web site is :
www.bayso.org/
This is what the Sheriff has to say :
“We strive to provide unparalled service and dedication to duty to ensure a sense of well-being and safety for the citizens of Bay County. “
Martin Lee Anderson is dead.

They have a link to ‘Secure Florida’:
www.secureflorida.org/
One of the top items on that site is :
“What Better Way to Say I Love You on Valentines Day, then with Windows Updates “
Published Tuesday, February 14, 2006

Frank McKeithen is the Sheriff of Bay County, Florida.
Martin Lee Anderson is no longer one of the citizens he is supposed to serve.

It looked like they were dragging around a corpse. They should all receive an all expenses paid trip to a boot camp upstate.

This is nothing !........of no consequence at all........after all, there are nice people suffering at Gitmo, and if there's anything I've learned from the brilliant membership here , it's the wrongs we do "out in the world" that matter, what we do here , stays here. Hey........like the vegas thing,eh?

Well, the medical examiner has ruled that the boy died of internal bleeding secondary to sickle cell crisis. The autoupsy found no evidence that blunt force trauma caused the bleeding.

A likely scenario is that the boy developed internal bleeding leading to his shrtness of breath. The shortness of breath led to hypoxia, which resulted in irrational behavior, which then led to restraint being used.

The cops should've known that. It's their job to know everything.

In my experience, police occassionally mistake medical issues for aggression or impairment by drugs or alcohol.

I do question whether an individual with sickle cell should have been enrolled in a physically demanding boot-camp style program.

The title of this thread exemplifies why liberals are rightly seen as soft on crime/law enforcement (along with the associated issue of national defense). I believe that in ALL instances, until all the facts are known that we should give the benefit of the doubt to members of law enforcement who answer the call of keeping of one of the most difficult (and clearly from some segments of our society thankless) job.

I don't think boot camps are a good idea for troubled kids.

It appears from further reading that the boy's sickle cell was not previously diagnosed.

Samantha, the alternatives are boot camp or prison. You don't go to boot camp for cutting class, you go for committing crimes.

Of course, juvenile records are sealed, so we probably won't find out why he was there in the first place.

Being in EMS, I'm sure you've had to deal with the "violent drunk" that turns out to be a nice diabetic that took too much insulin.

Not kidding at all - I have seen similar incidents firsthand in the field, with regard to the hypozie scenario.

I am not in a position to second-guess the medical examiner. Neither are you, in all liklihood.

In any event, an outside agency (the FDLE) is investigating.

Oh, yeah. We used to have a guy who worked out at a gym near the station, who was 6'3 and 275 - solid as a rock.

Every once in a while, he would work out to the point where he burned up all his sugar, and his blood glucose would drop very low. He'd get very irrational, and combative.

He could be a real challenge. I barely stopped a police officer from shooting him in the parking lot one day.

Well, there is the cop that walked up to a drunk, laying on the sidewalk and starts poking at him with his foot telling him to get up. The guy just laid there moaning like a drunk. Then the cop picked him up and put him over the back of the squad car and started to cuff him, when a person came out and said, "You might not want to do that. He just jumped out of the 5th floor window"

which is why I have stated that the police in this country have become, in large, a bunch of Jack-booted Goose-stepping thugs. without the proper restraint. They think they are gods unto themselves. And they often get away with MURDER
