"Faith" was a convenient word, I did not mean literal (religious) faith.

What I desire is perfectly possible, even probable if I work to bring it about. Great works of social change have been done in the past, and I am a man of no mean ability; so I have every confidence in my ability to succeed at my assigned task.

I also did not use the word "faith" in a religous context. And I'm not saying lay down for 'em......just don't expect too much.
