Default Water Leak in Cooling System Forces the Evacuation of Prudential Tower.
A waterline break that has occured in the cooling system of Boston's Prudential Tower yesterday that knocked out the air conditioning system and had forced thousands of office workers and tourists to be evacuated from the building.

The leaking water had started somewhere on one of the upper floors of the structure and worked its way all the way down to the lobby of the building. It was thought that the nearby mall was also affected, but it was not.

Workers had said that before they could even get down the stairs and to the outside, the building had already began to get unbearably hot & muggy inside!

A water-line break on the second floor of the Prudential Tower crippled the 52-story skyscraper’s air conditioning and elevator service - and touched off a flood that forced several firms and thousands of workers to evacuate the Boston landmark.
More than 50 Boston firefighters were called to the Prudential Tower about 10:45 yesterday morning as thousands of gallons of water gushed from a broken water-line fitting on the second floor of the building. The leak flooded the second floor, washed down stairwells and elevator shafts, and then soaked through first-floor ceilings, leaving several inches of water in the lobby and spilling out onto the mall outside, said Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald.

I think once or twice, there was a small fire in the building, but it was detained and put out by the sprinkler system.

My kitchen faucet was dripping when I woke up, but I turned it off before it turned into a major event.

Depending on where you live, and if your city or town is in an area where there are bitterly cold winters, it is better to let your cold water faucet drip a little to prevent the water line from freezing up.

For broken pipes and leaky faucets, you should call the Coast Guard. Fire Dept will just get confused.

Then DON'T!! Obviously, YOU don't care, but others might.

You can start by banning yourself. There IS such a thing as the IGNORE button. Use it if you think that I'm grating on your nerves.

I'll spell it for you; 1-G-N-O-R-E B-U-T-T-O-N. Just in case you can't spell it. You know, you use it when you don't want to see or read someone's posts? Or do you need spell checker?

News is news, no matter WHERE it comes from. If you're not friggen complaining about a link not being posted, then you're friggen complaining about something else. You were a jerk at SSP, and you're a jerk here!

How damn ungrateful you are! You don't appreciate ANYTHING that I post at all!! All you do is friggen complain. Try cleaning up stuff in your own backyard first before you become so quick to criticise others! Grow up.
