Default If Not the Greebrier, than where???
A friend of mine, in a position to know such things, reports that there were some high-level briefings on the Hill today. Also today the President has labeled the Swine Flu Pandemic a "Serious Threat". Evidently, according to my friend, there have been a lot of limos and planes leaving Washington since about noon EST. He said some of the Congressional offices were either closed or very short staffed. Also, it looks like the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda has received several container loads of refridgerated pharmaceuticals (read that: vaccines), and has been handing out masks and other forms of PPE to staffers on the Hill and other strategic sites.

I think the Greebrier is closed, but where else would Congress set up a shadow government if the Capitol were to close? I understand that the Signature Flight Services terminal at Reagan National and Dulles are almost devoid of private jets (Congressmen often fly the fractional jets if they want to move quickly).

Thoughts anyone?

Oh, he'll probably climb on one his "private" jets and start visiting the world's dictators and henchmen, bowing to them and apologizing for the US for "causing" the bug.

Wouldnt it be great if all the libs caught the bug?! Now, that's change I'm talking about! Yes, we can!

Interesting. According to the notes, even Congress doesn't know too much about this place. I checked with a friend of mine at the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, he said that over the past week two separate surgical team dets have been TAD to Virginia, each det has additional members of the Navy's Rapid Epidemiological Response Team (RERT), along with several Infectious Disease physicians pulled out of Bethesda and Balboa (San Diego). These teams normal ride the Hospital ships when deployed, and in garrison staff up the laboratories at the Medical Centers.

Anyone in the DC area today should swing by the Capitol and see what kind of traffic is there - I suspect a lot of our "elected" officials have taken a sudden vacation to Bluemont Virginia
