Default WI.....and Now on to Nebraska?
State Budget Battle Targets Public Employees
Lincoln/Omaha, NE -- One in every five Nebraskans works for state or local government. As a nearly billion dollar state budget gaps looms over Lincoln, cost cutting could quickly become controversial when it effects 17 percent of people living in Nebraska, the states entire public labor force.

Public unions fear a battle with Nebraska lawmakers is eminent. (cough)....eminent? Shouldn't that be imminent?

Anyway..let's look at the numbers.....1 out of 5 of every Nebraskan....works for the state or local gov.

If we wanna play it safe, and say that 50%, (likely higher) are either too old, or too young to be in the workforce....then that means that um...about 40% of all working Nebraskans are working on the tax payer?

I wonder how 'normal' that is, compared to other states? It just seems an insanely high percentage.
On Saturday, union workers make a pre-emptive strike at the capitol. The Nebraska Association of Public Employees says, any move to abolish collective bargaining is an attack on public employees. Is this the next tower to fall?

Edit: forgot the link.
