Can you think of anything which people need, but cannot afford, that is unsubsidized?

Is there a niche here the free market cannot/has not filled with a product available at a price most people can afford?

Homes/Shelter: Check.

Transportation: Check.

Power/Heat: Check..

Communication: Check..

Does an unfilled niche remain?
